Le Grand Départ is the introduction to the Le Tour de France. Every year 176 competitors divided into 22 different teams are competing for the capturing the first place in the start of the Tour de France. In order to declare who is taking the position in the front, each competitor has to complete 12 km ride in shortest time.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:

Volunteer shifts differ throughout the whole day from 8:00 until 22:00. There are possible changes every two hours. Some tasks of the volunteers include placing/removing barriers, navigating traffic of people, or directing parking for team busses.

It is up to the individual volunteers to choose which shifts works best for them.

• Helping with setup (barriers, tables, tents, etc)

• Helping with break down

• Helping with traffic flow management

• Emergency instructions in case

•  

• Parking management

•  

• Keeping out people’s area, park areas, plastic disposal areas clean, neat and free of litter
